A 21-YEAR-OLD man was allegedly stabbed by a 19-year-old victim for not returning his drinking money at Otjiwarongo on Saturday, the police have reported.
According to the police weekly crime report, the two put money together for drinking the night before, but the suspect did not drink and he returned home.
The next day, the suspect went to the victim’s house demanding his share back when a fight broke out and the suspect took out an Okapi knife and stabbed the victim in the throat, inflicting a deep cut.
“The victim was transported to Windhoek in a serious condition,” the report read.
In a separate incident, a 26-year-old man, who has been identified as Daniel Paulus, allegedly drowned in an earth dam at Okadolwena village in Endola.
According to the report, Paulus and his six friends went to bathe in the dam when the water allegedly swept him away.
“His friends tried to assist him, but they could not make it. The body is still under the water and divers from Oshana have been informed for assistance,” the report read.
The deceased’s next of kin were informed.
In a separate incident, a family in Windhoek lost goods worth N$65 000, when their house was broken into and a TV set, laptop, clothes and several pairs of shoes were stolen.
Nothing has been recovered and no arrest has been made yet.
In another robbery incident, goods valued to N$72 000 were allegedly stolen from a vehicle in Windhoek.
“It is alleged that the suspect(s) unlawfully and intentionally removed the victim’s property from the vehicle while being distracted – an iPad 7, a MacBook Pro laptop and a bag,” the report read.
No arrests have been made.
Police investigations continue in all the incidents.
In a separate incident, two minors were found at Nkurenkuru in possession of two slaughtered goats in the grazing area without the owner’s consent. The goats were valued at N$2 000.
The report said the minors were released in the care of their guardians.
