Fitness personality, movement and empowerment coach Emily Kandanga will host an inaugural ‘Meet your Ego and Connect to your Higher Self’ workshop this month, and plans to host more afterwards.
Kandanga says the workshop aims to contribute to the spaces where meaningful, enlightening conversations can be had on various topics to empower participants to live a purposeful life.
The workshop will take place on Zoom on 10 May at 12h00 CAT.
“It is part of a series of virtual personal development workshops I will be running at various times throughout the year. The goal is to create more platforms for information sharing and create opportunities for those who are looking to expand their minds and lives to explore that,” she says.
Kandanga says anyone interested in personal development can attend the 45-minute masterclass. Participants will learn the main differences between how ego and higher self show up in one’s life.
“This will give you more control over the ‘random’ impulsive behaviours caused by a bruised ego and re-direct you into a more purposeful path under the divine guidance of your higher self,” she says.
Kandanga says she decided to host the workshop to explore the ego and how it shows up in our lives.
“There are several instances I can recall my ego just getting out of hand and landing me in some mess I didn’t want to be a part of in the first place. You can probably recall such a time yourself. Your ego is the part of you that is responsible for preserving your self-esteem and identity. As you move through life, your ego is prone to absorbing negative social conditioning and then it begins to run havoc in the background. That’s where a lot of its bad street creed comes from. But, through regular practice and awareness you can become more aware of your ego and atune to your higher self,” she says.
Kandanga is passionate about creating online self-paced personal development programmes because of the opportunity to serve more than one person, the flexibility of the learning experience for participants and the freedom to integrate new and innovative ways of sharing information.
She is working hard to educate the public about fitness and living a healthy lifestyle and has created programmes that integrate physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being for a holistic approach.
Kandanga says the public can look forward to informative and inspirational episodes coming to her podcast, the Empowered By EMS Podcast available to stream on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. She says the public must also be on the lookout for more opportunities to take part in mini-courses created to enlighten and empower them.
