THE Namibia Media Trust (NMT) and The Namibian are partnering to facilitate an internship programme for four young Namibians who are participants of the My Ability project. The My Ability project was initiated and established by the Namibia Media Trust, with support from the South Africa Media Innovation Programme (Samip).
The internship will provide practical experience and learning opportunities for the participants. In tandem, NMT and The Namibian will create an inclusive environment within the media industry in Namibia.
This initiative will give the interns exposure to various aspects of media work, such as news-gathering, editing and other related tasks. This internship will ideally serve as a stepping stone for the participants, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in the field and develop their skills and knowledge in media.
The My Ability project, initiated and established by NMT, focuses on empowering individuals with disabilities and promoting their inclusion in the media sector. The project aims to create a more diverse and representative media landscape in Namibia by providing resources, training and support to individuals with disabilities who are interested in pursuing careers in media.
