FORMER Miss Namibia Chelsi Shikongo has been given the opportunity to shine on the international stage, and is all set to represent the country at this year’s Beauty of Africa International Pageant (BAIP) in Accra, Ghana.
In an exclusive interview with unwrap.online, Shikongo says she was approached by BIAP Namibia with the amazing offer, which she gladly accepted.
Being chosen to represent her country once again has left her humbled and honoured, she says.
“I was humbled to receive yet another opportunity to represent my country on an international stage. My appointment was made final last month, and this August, I will represent Namibia at this prestigious pageant in Accra, Ghana.”
For Shikongo, the opportunity holds immense significance as it allows her to continue contributing to the international beauty industry. It also enables her to pursue her goals and make a meaningful impact on causes that are close to her heart.
“I get to achieve more of the goals I have set for myself,” Shikongo says. “And continue to step into spaces that allow me to make a huge contribution and change to the social causes closest to my heart under this new title.”
In terms of preparation, Shikongo hinted at exciting surprises in store.
She is currently diligently training with the best in Namibia, Bobby Kaanjosa, to enhance her public speaking and walking skills, and as the date of the pageant draws closer, Shikongo eagerly looks forward to representing Namibia and its beautiful people on the Miss BAIP stage.
“There are definitely surprises coming soon! So, definitely stay tuned!” Shikongo teased.
Apart from her pageant commitments, Shikongo remains actively engaged in her social work, building on the initiatives she started as Miss Namibia 2021. Additionally, she plans to release more of her comedy work and collaborate with industry experts to further pursue her creative endeavours.
While keeping busy with her diverse projects, Shikongo is also devoting significant efforts to prepare for her next international pageant.
With unwavering determination and a heart full of gratitude, Shikongo seeks the support and encouragement of her fellow Namibians, urging them to rally behind her on her journey to the BAIP crown, by voting for her and tuning in to watch the grand event online on 27 August.
“I am grateful for this opportunity and how Namibians are coming together and supporting me,” Shikongo says. – unwrap.online
